Kershaw and the Dodgers have agreed on a new deal, per multiple reports, but the deal is pending Kershaw completing his physical.
The 36-year-old was present for Day 1 of Dodgers spring training on Tuesday and was spotted playing catch.
Kershaw declined a $10 million player option in favour of free agency, but the expectation all along was that he would return to the Dodgers.
The three-time NL Cy Young Award winner didn’t pitch in the Dodgers’ run to a World Series title last season because of a bone spur in his left big toe that sidelined him for the final month of the regular season.
Kershaw made just seven starts in 2024, going 2-2 with a 4.50 ERA — both career lows.
He’s spent his entire career with the Dodgers, although he has missed chunks of time in recent years because of a series of injuries.
Kershaw is 212-94 with a 2.50 ERA in 429 starts and three relief appearances over 17 seasons.
