And just like that… we’re talking about the All-Star Game!
The 2025 edition of Major League Baseball’s Mid-Summer Classic will be held on July 15th at Atlanta’s Truist Park, and the big news for fans of uniforms is that, for the first time since 2019, the players will wear their usual team jerseys and pants for the game itself. Caps, however, will be unique to the game, but will be styled to be fairly faithful to their usual designs.
Those who preferred the special American and National League uniform designs need not fret; they will still exist and be worn during the Home Run Derby the night before the All-Star Game. We’ll cover those later in the post, but first, we’ll take a look at the caps and jerseys that’ll be worn during the All-Star Game itself.
2025 ALL-STAR GAME CAPS AND JERSEYS

The cap design this year will feature six panels per usual; however, this year the two front panels will be split horizontally instead of vertically. Two white stars are added to the new top panel, positioned near the very top of the crown. The usual team logo is placed in the center of the lower front panel. Moving to the back and sides, we have four perforated panels with the 2025 MLB All-Star Game patch on the right side and the New Era logo on the left. The MLB logo appears on the very back of the cap in its usual place. Inside, the sweatband is black with a series of white stars placed upon it.

A look at all thirty 2025 All-Star Game team cap designs:

You’ll note these are not direct copies from what each club typically wears. What we get is the team’s primary colour on the crown, with their secondary colour used for both the visor and button. While this does result in a few designs that some clubs already use, such as the Astros, Braves, and Athletics, it also yields some pretty good designs that would absolutely work as new alternate caps (or, dare I say, replacements for their usual home and road caps). The Angels, Marlins, Brewers, Pirates, Padres, and Rays caps here would all serve as exceptional options during the regular season.
As for the jerseys…

You asked for it, you got it! Players will wear their usual jerseys and pants, with a 2025 All-Star Game logo patch added to the sleeve. Players representing the National League will all wear their team’s standard white home jerseys. The American League players will wear their team’s road jerseys — that’s grey for thirteen teams and navy blue for the two non-grey road teams, the Seattle Mariners and Tampa Bay Rays.
A glorious time, indeed.
2025 HOME RUN DERBY CAPS AND JERSEYS

For All-Star Workout Day (most notable for the Home Run Derby), players will wear special caps featuring the same new panel construction we discussed earlier. Players from the National League will wear a royal blue crown with red visor and button; the American League will wear a dark midnight blue crown. It appears to be a tribute to the two eras of Atlanta Braves caps: the royal blue worn from the early 1970s to the mid-1980s, the midnight blue in the 1960s, and then again from 1987 to the present. Team logos are placed upon a star and recoloured to match the blue and red colour scheme (note: NL teams use the darker blue of the AL caps in their logos, while the AL teams do the opposite and use the lighter blue of the NL).

Here’s all thirty Workout Day caps:

Above, you’ll see the midnight blue for the American League and royal blue for the National League. One notable exception to the template above is the Houston Astros, who incorporated the bevelled star design from their usual caps into the Workout Cap, making them the only club to have any design added to the star itself.
This same colour scheme for each league carries over to the 2025 Home Run Derby jerseys:

Both leagues will wear a button-up jersey featuring the league’s abbreviation in the upper left corner. The “AL” and “NL” logos are scripted in lowercase in a style similar to the Braves’ uniform logos worn during the 1970s, made famous by Hank Aaron, who wore this style when he broke the all-time home run record in 1974. Each jersey features striping on the sleeves, red piping down the front, an All-Star Game logo patch on the sleeve, a jock tag design, and a gold Nike swoosh.

A closer look reveals a subtle pattern added to the inside of each league wordmark. The jock tag features the 2025 All-Star Game wordmark logo with an “ATL * 2025” design below in blue, red, and yellow.
Finally, we have the special Stance brand socks that players will be able to wear for both the Home Run Derby and All-Star Game:
