The Toronto Blue Jays will be giving the Seattle Mariners their best right out of the gate.
Ace righty Kevin Gausman has been chosen to start Game 1 of the ALCS against the Mariners, the team announced Saturday.
The Mariners have not yet announced who will be on the bump for the opener after their 15-inning marathon Game 5 win over the Detroit Tigers on Friday.

Gausman also got the nod for the opening game of the ALDS against the New York Yankees last week.
He lived up to his billing against the Yankees, pitching 5.2 innings of one-run ball while allowing four hits, two walks and striking out three.
For season, the right-hander was 10-11 with a 3.59 ERA. He improved to a 2.78 ERA in five starts in September.
In his lone start against the Mariners this year on May 9 — a 7-3 Blue Jays win — Gausman pitched 5.1 innings, giving up three runs on seven hits and striking out three.
Over his 13-year MLB career, Gausman has a 2-4 record in 12 appearances against the Mariners with a 2.94 ERA and 1.137 WHIP.
