The final of the Coppa Italia remains goalless at half-time despite beginning in frantic fashion as Milan hunt a domestic double while Bologna look to lift first major trophy in more than half a century.
Sergio Conceicao’s side have endured a difficult season in Serie A, where they currently occupy eighth spot, but the Rossoneri are chasing a second cup triumph this term after winning the Supercoppa Italiana.
The Rossoblu, meanwhile, will be looking to cap off an impressive campaign with what would be third Coppa Italia and their first since 1974.
In a raucous Stadio Olimpico, the two teams – who met just five days previous in the league, with Milan winning 3-1 – spent little time getting reacquainted with one another.

Inside five minutes, the returning Rafael Leao bamboozled the Bologna defence down the left before crossing to Alex Jimenez, but the Milan forward could only send his effort high over the goal.
Moments later, Bologna had their first real chance courtesy of Santiago Castro. His flicked header from Juan Miranda’s curling cross tested the reflexes of Milan keeper Mike Maignan who saved well.
Then, shortly after, Luka Jovic, Milan’s hero in the semi-final, pounced on an error from Sam Beukema before unleashing a volley that looked destined for the back of the net.
But somehow Lukasz Skorupski did enough to prevent the ball crossing the line, with Christian Pulisic failing to make contact on the follow-up.
From there, the tempo began to settle, as Bologna wrestled momentum in their favour and enjoyed the lion’s share of possession.
However, they never looking particularly threatening, and so the tie remained goalless going into the break.
