As Gameweek 5 approaches, identifying key players to strengthen your Fantasy Premier League squad is crucial, writes FPL expert Blake Hurst.
This week’s list highlights five stand-out options who combine form, fixtures and potential to deliver big returns.
Whether they’re consistent point getters or exciting differentials, these picks offer the perfect blend of reliability and upside to boost your FPL team heading into the weekend.
Don’t miss the chance to get ahead and capitalise on their rising form.

Antoine Semenyo (Bournemouth, 7.5m)
Antoine Semenyo is making himself impossible to ignore in FPL right now. The forward is sitting on the top points tally and looks every part of a season defining pick, combining goal threat with consistency.
What really adds to Semenyo’s appeal is the growing sense that he might also be in line for first-choice penalty duties, giving him yet another route to points.
With form, fixtures and confidence all lining up, he’s not just a decent option but one of the best assets in the game at present.
If you don’t already own him, it feels less like a luxury move and more like something you absolutely need to prioritise.
Xavi Simons (Tottenham, 7m)
Simons is shaping up as a real FPL option, with the midfielder’s versatility and set-piece threat making him a stand-out option.
Spurs’ routines from dead balls are clearly a focus under Thomas Frank, and Simons looks central to that approach.
His creativity and ability to deliver from corners and free-kicks mean Simons always has routes to returns, whether they’re assists or the odd goal.
The one caution is his minutes could come under pressure with European football on the horizon, as rotation will be a factor.
Still, when Simons is on the pitch, he looks like he can make things happen for Spurs.

Nick Woltemade (Newcastle, 7m)
Woltemade could emerge as a real differential in the coming weeks. With Yoane Wissa sidelined for around a month, the Germany forward looks set to be nailed down in the starting XI, and he’s already off the mark with a goal on debut.
Supporters are eager to get behind him following Alexander Isak’s departure, and that confidence boost from his first outing will only help.
Newcastle’s fixtures aren’t the most appealing but, at just 7.0m and very low ownership at 2%, Woltemade offers FPL managers a chance to jump on early.
This is a punt, but one that could pay off if his form continues
Marcos Senesi (Bournemouth, 4.6m)
Senesi has quickly become a stand-out defensive asset in FPL thanks to defensive contribution bonus potential.
The centre-back has earned +2 points for defensive contributions in every match so far, effectively giving him a four-point baseline before clean sheets even come into play.
Add a shut-out on top of that and you’re already looking at an eight-point return before any bonus is considered.
That kind of reliability is rare and makes Senesi a hugely appealing pick. If you’re searching for a defender who offers both stability and upside, Senesi looks like one you won’t want to overlook and should be a main asset in your defence.

Moises Caicedo (Chelsea, 5.5m)
Caicedo isn’t the standard FPL pick but he’s starting to quietly build a case as a value option.
At just 5.5m, the midfielder has delivered defensive contributions in three of his last four matches while also chipping in with a couple of early-season goals.
That mix of steady baseline points – plus the odd attacking return – makes him an under-rated differential.
He’s not the Chelsea player you’d prioritise above others – the likes of Cole Palmer, Joao Pedro and even Enzo Fernandez – but his consistency is hard to ignore.
With Manchester United’s midfield struggling to keep possession, there’s every chance Caicedo racks up defensive contribution points again this week and continues flying under the radar.
