Tottenham record scorer Harry Kane was razor-sharp inside the penalty area to hit the opening goal against his former side as they visited Bayern Munich in the Premier League club’s final pre-season friendly.
England captain Kane left Micky van de Ven standing in the 12th minute, trapping Michael Olise’s left-footed pass from the halfway line beautifully before sweeping a precise finish past goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario with his right boot.

Kane had an almost immediate chance to double Bayern’s advantage when Palhinha – on loan to Spurs from the German giants – conceded a penalty for a foul on Josip Stanisic.
In a scene reminiscent of Kane’s costly penalty miss for the Three Lions against France in the 2022 World Cup quarter-finals, the 32-year-old scooped the spot kick high over the crossbar before appearing to aim an accusatory glance at the turf.

The game was new Tottenham manager Thomas Frank’s final chance to see his players in a non-competitive setting following their tour of Asia, which included a win over Arsenal and draw with Newcastle.
