Liverpool striker Hugo Ekitike says the Reds ‘want to win everything’ after impressing in a pair of back-to-back Anfield friendlies against Athletic Bilbao.
Ekitike, 23, impressed with his hold-up play and created the opening goal for Mohamed Salah as Arne Slot’s first-team won 3-2 at a packed Anfield.
The France Under-21 international says there is more to come from the Premier League champions – starting with Sunday’s Community Shield against Crystal Palace.
He said: “I enjoyed it a lot, it was such a good atmosphere. I feel proud and I just wish I will play so many games in this stadium because it is amazing.
“I am here now for more than one week so I’m still trying to find connections with the others in the last passes and even before. I enjoy playing with them, outside of the pitch they are good guys also. So, I take pleasure to play with them.
“It’s early, it’s the last friendly game before the [Community Shield]. I think that was important today to win, to go and play this game with confidence. But the real season starts I think on Sunday for the cup game and we’re looking forward to this.
“We have a group of competitors, we want to win everything. We’re going to give 100 per cent I’m sure. I’m sure about this. And me also, I’m going to give 100 per cent to win because I’m here to win.”
Ekitike formed an exciting attacking quartet with Salah, Cody Gakpo and fellow new signing Florian Wirtz.
The Reds begin their Premier League campaign against Bournemouth on Friday 15 August.
