The 2025 Home Run Derby officially has six of its eight participants.
Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Junior Caminero became the sixth player to enter the event when he announced his commitment on Instagram on Wednesday.
He joins Atlanta’s Ronald Acuña Jr., Minnesota’s Byron Buxton, Seattle’s Cal Raleigh, Washington’s James Wood and Pittsburgh’s Oneil Cruz as the players already in the eight-man field.
Caminero, who just turned 22, leads American League third basemen with 21 home runs this season.
The youngster from the Dominican Republic is in his first full season in the majors after appearing in just 43 games for the Rays in 2024.
In 83 games with the Rays this season, he’s slashing .252/.294/.496.
The annual event showcasing MLB’s best sluggers will take place on Monday at Truist Park in Atlanta.
