Rockies send outfielder Nolan Jones to Guardians for utility player Tyler Freeman fasterkora.xyz

Jones was drafted by Cleveland in 2016 and made his big league debut in the 2022 season where he registered 28 plate appearances. He was dealt to Colorado that off-season and enjoyed a breakout 2023 campaign.

In his first season in the Mile High City, the 26-year-old outfielder slashed .297/.389/.931 with 20 home runs and 62 RBIs in 106 games while finishing fourth in the National League Rookie of the Year voting.

But Jones struggled mightily last season after dealing with a variety of injuries. He appeared in only 79 games and clubbed three homers to go along with 28 RBIs and a .227 batting average.

Freeman played all over the diamond for the Guardians in 2024. The 25-year-old made 82 starts in centre field and also started games at third base, second base and shortstop. In his three-year career, Freeman has logged an inning at every position except for pitcher, catcher and right field.

Last season, the utility man hit .209 with seven home runs and 32 RBIs in 118 games.
