It’s mid-May, which can only mean two things in Toronto: the Maple Leafs are grappling with elimination, and Blue Jays fans are waiting for the Rogers Centre dome to finally open.
As of Thursday, we have an answer to the latter.
The roof will open for the first time all season as the Blue Jays face the Tampa Bay Rays in an afternoon game.
With a temperature of 19 degrees and mostly blue skies, Kevin Gausman will take the mound as Toronto looks to win the rubber match of a three-game series against its A.L. East rival.
The Blue Jays are also looking to climb above .500 for the first time since April.
If you’re not at the ballpark, live coverage of the game on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+ will begin at 3 p.m. ET / noon PT.
