Big Ten makes history in final AP college football poll fasterkora.xyz

The Big Ten Conference has to be feeling pretty good about itself right now. Last season, the Michigan Wolverines won the College Football Playoff and secured their first championship since 1997.

This past Monday Night, Ohio State ran the gauntlet of No. 9 Tennessee, No. 1 Oregon, No. 5 Texas and No. 7 Notre Dame to win its ninth national championship and first since 2014.

It was an epic CFP run for the Buckeyes, who had looked dead in the water after a fourth-straight loss to Michigan in “The Game” to end the season.

Naturally, then, Ryan Day’s Buckeyes find themselves ranked No. 1 in the final AP poll of the 2024-25 season, but OSU is not the only Big Ten team ranked highly to end this season.

Notre Dame was ranked No. 2, Oregon No. 3, Texas No. 4 and Penn State No. 5.

According to the Associated Press via ESPN, this sis the first time in history that the Big Ten has had three teams finish in the final top five.

The rest of the Top 10 is as follows:

No. 6: Georgia

No. 7: Arizona State

No. 8: Boise State

No. 9: Tennessee

No. 10: Indiana

Ohio State’s CFP title run took the Buckeyes through four teams which finished in the Top 10, and none of those teams looked to even belong on the same field as the Buckeyes.
