After being eliminated from the playoffs by the Chiefs for the fourth time in five years, Bills fans have no choice but to look toward next season. Adding a rangy, 6-foot-1 cornerback in the draft won’t fix everything, but it’s a start.
As ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. states in his latest mock draft, Buffalo allowed opposing quarterbacks to complete 68.5 percent of their passes this season, ranking them 28th in the league. Meanwhile, veteran cornerback Rasul Douglas is about to become a free agent.
So Kiper has the Bills taking Kentucky cornerback Maxwell Hairston, a player he calls a “pro-ready prospect,” with the 30th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Hairston had 89 tackles, six interceptions and three forced fumbles in three years with the Wildcats with five interceptions (two returned for touchdowns) and 68 tackles coming in 2023.
