The annual exodus of gridiron talent migrating across the college football landscape is underway as the transfer portal churns like a well-oiled but out-of-control machine. With the allure of NIL money dangling like the proverbial carrot, players from coast to coast decide to transfer in hopes of more playing time, improving their NFL Draft stock, and, more importantly, earning vast amounts of money from boosters and donors with very deep pockets.

A first-team all-AAC selection for the Tulane Green Wave, Makhi Hughes led his team in rushing with 1,401 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2024. He broke the century mark in a game seven times, including five straight contests.
