It was one heck of a recruiting weekend for the Clemson Tigers. Whatever head coach Dabo Swinney and his staff said needs to be bottled up and stored somewhere safe in the coach’s office because the Tigers were on fire.
In all, six commitments have come out of what was known as the “Elite Retreat” weekend. The latest was three-star cornerback Marcell Gipson from Dallas, Texas, who is ranked as the No. 67 cornerback in the 2026 class.
Gipson is the latest commitment but he’s far from the only recruit who fell in love with Clemson over the weekend.
In fact, the Tigers went wild over the weekend.
The biggest prize of the weekend was four-star wide receiver Naeem Burroughs from Jacksonville, Florida. He’s ranked as the No. 8 wideout in the 2026 class, according to the 247Sports Composite. Connor Salmin, a four-star wideout from Potomac, Maryland, joined him as a wideout commitment as well.
Swinney’s Tigers then made some huge inroads for future running backs and quarterbacks with three big-time offensive line commitments. Adam Guthrie, Grant Wise and Chancellor Barclay all committed to Clemson.
Barclay, specifically, is a top recruit, ranked as the No. 11 interior offensive lineman in the country.
It’s still early, but Dabo is “cooking” in 2026. His class is ranked No. 3 in the country.
