Mike Brown is a four-star wide receiver from Spring, Texas. Him committing to the Texas Aggies is a big deal for Mike Elko and staff for that reason alone.
Winning in-state talent, especially in a state like Texas, can be vital.
There’s more to the story behind this big Texas A&M recruiting win, though. Brown’s father, Reggie Brown, was a linebacker for the Aggies and a darn good one at that. He earned All-Southwest Conference honors in his senior season after notching 90 tackles and two interceptions. He was then selected by the Detroit Lions in the first round of the 1996 NFL Draft.
The younger Brown has history with the Aggies. His mom even went to Texas A&M. Elko and the Aggies have unsurprisingly made him one of the top targets on the 2026 recruiting cycle, and on Monday that attention paid off.
