Former Missouri QB Drew Pyne finds another new home fasterkora.xyz

Drew Pyne has been everywhere.

Pyne, from New Cannan, Connecticut, was a four-star quarterback recruit out of the class of 2020. He committed to Notre Dame as a recruit.

He didn’t do much in two seasons as a young backup but he was given the starting job in 2022 after week three and he started the final 10 games of the season for the Fighting Irish. In that time period, he threw for 2,021 yards and 22 touchdowns compared to 11 interceptions.

After that season, he transferred to Arizona State, where he took a medical redshirt season. He transferred again ahead of the 2024 season and ended up at Missouri, where he was the backup quarterback for Brady Cook.

With just one year of eligibility remaining and facing a quarterback competition at Mizzou with  Sam Horn and Penn State transfer Beau Pribula, Pyne decided to hit the portal one last time.

This time, he’s decided to play for Bowling Green and new head coach Eddie George. His reasoning for going from competing in the SEC to the MAC?

“The opportunity to go play for Eddie George, a returning offensive line that’s strong and experienced. And a program that’s very good, played in three-straight bowl games and can compete for a championship,” Pyne told Pete Thamel of ESPN.
